How to Join the Order of Demolay

Demolay was created to help young men develop into better adults. Organized in 1919 by Frank Land and nine boys, it was named after Jacques DeMolay. The goal of the order was to increase moral, spiritual and intellectual development in young men. To join the Order of Demolay, you must follow certain procedures.

Step1
Visit the Demolay website and select your state. To join, contact the person on the list that appears to find out where your local group meets.
Step2
Download the application from the Demolay site. Read the online pamphlet that outlines the organization and its activities.
Step3
Request permission to attend a meeting. This is just another method of fact finding to insure you understand the way the group functions.
Step4
Submit the completed form to the local organization. Check your answers carefully for misspellings and correct information.
Step5
Wait to be contacted to find out if you were accepted. Your application must be voted on and approved before you can become a member.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your local group will be sponsored by a Masonic lodge, but Demolay is not an arm of that organization. You don't need any personal affiliation to the Masons to join the Order of Demolay.
