In "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," you get to choose your own destiny, Sanguine, my brother. You can choose to be a good guy or a villain. Perhaps you have a goal to complete all the quests in the game. If you want to be a killer, or if you want to get more out of "Oblivion," you may want to join the Dark Brotherhood.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Find an innocent character. Make sure it isn't part of a quest and that it isn't a bad guy attacking you for his own reasons.
Step2
Murder that character in cold blood. You should see a message appear on screen letting you know that your deed has been noticed.
Step3
Flee from or kill any witnesses who pursue you.
Step4
Check your journal. It should show that you have committed at least one murder.
Step5
Find a place to sleep. When you wake up, Lucien Lachance, a speaker from the Dark Brotherhood will visit you. He will ask you to join the Brotherhood, but first you must complete a task to prove yourself.
Step6
Go to the Inn of Ill Omen south of the Imperial City.
Step7
Enter the inn and go through the trap door. There you will find Rufio, your intended target.
Step8
Kill Rufio. If you sneak up on him, this shouldn't be too much of a problem, as he will be sleeping.
Step9
Find a place to sleep again. You will be awoken again by Lucien who will inform you that you are now a member of the Dark Brotherhood, and then relay your next instructions.
