Cleaning your bathrooms with non-toxic elements can make your home safer and put you at less risk. You can clean every room in your home, using items common to almost every household.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Mix together baking soda and water to make a paste. Use 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water.
Step2
Spread the paste over the tub, sink, counter tops and toilet with a damp cloth. Let the paste sit on the porcelain for an at least 2 hours. Allow enough time for the paste to thoroughly clean any stubborn stains.
Step3
Rinse your cloth and wring it out. Proceed to remove all the paste with the cloth. Run water in the tub, sink and flush the toilet. With a new cloth, rinse all the paste out thoroughly.
Step4
Feel the surface of the tub, sink and counter top and the outside of the toilet with your hand to make sure no residue remains. The residue feels rough if you fail to clean it all off.
Step5
Keep a spray bottle of 1 part vinegar and 5 parts water in each bathroom to spray and wipe every day, so you prevent any buildup of mildew or bacteria.
Step6
Consider using citrus oils. Add 2 drops to a spray bottle. Spray the counter, tub and sink and wipe with a clean cloth. The bathroom will smell pleasant and you'll disinfect at the same time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Natural food stores carry a large selection of non-toxic cleaners. If you don't want to make your own paste, use these products instead.
  • Don't be deceived by purchasing a natural cleaning product that contains toxic elements. Read the labels completely before using the cleaner.
