How to Fold a Towel Dog

Folding towels into animal shapes is becoming very popular, especially on cruise ships and hotels. Children love towel animals, so how fun it would be to surprise your kids with a towel animal when they get out of the tub? Some people think it's hard to fold a towel dog, but it's easy when you follow a few easy steps.

Things You'll Need

• Thick bath towel
• Matching hand towel

Instructions

1. Lay the bath towel flat on a table or the floor. Start at the right side, and roll it tight to the center, then go to the left side and roll it tight to the center.

2. Fold the towel in half. Turn the towel roll sideways and fold it down the middle, making sure the top roll comes over the bottom roll. This is the dogs body. Put it aside while you make the head.

3. Lay the hand towel flat on the table or the floor. Fold the hand towel in half, then bring the open side of the towel back to the fold side about two-thirds of the way. There should be two inches between the folds. Take the first fold and tuck it underneath. Pull the right corner towards the middle, making a triangle, then pull the left corner to the middle, too.

4. Take the right end and roll it tight to the middle, then take the left end and roll it tight to the middle. Take the top of the right triangle and bring it down to the front, then take the top of the left triangle and pull it to the front, too.

5. Tuck the right flap under, then tuck the left flap under, this makes the forehead. Put the head on the body and enjoy the towel dog.
