Things can turn awkward when entertaining a friend that you haven't seen in a long time. You may have no idea what's gone on in her life or what type of person she's become since you saw her last. Try to make things less tense by keeping things casual.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Make a plan to visit places that are part of your shared past. If you met through a bowling league, go to the local alley. Or, if you used to bond over your love of ice cream, visit your favorite sundae shop.
Step2
Follow his lead. He may have some ideas on things he wants to do during his visit. Ask for his input on your plans, and then go from there.
Step3
Bring along some of her old acquaintances. If she moved away from the area, see if some of her old friends want to hang out while she's in town.
Step4
Spend some time looking through old photos or watching videos. He may enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with you while he visits.
Step5
Go to a movie if you feel that you no longer have anything in common. In this case, you won't have to talk much.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your time together doesn't go well, try to make the most out of the situation. After that, you can choose to no longer keep up the friendship.
  • Don't feel bad if you lost the close feeling that you once had with an old friend. You may have both changed and no longer have the same personalities.
