Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Screwdriver
- Old towels
- Newspapers
- Window cleaner
- Paper towels
Step1
Remove the oven door from its hinges. Depending on the make and model of your oven, you may be able to simply open the door to its broil position, take hold of each side of the door and lift it up and out. If your oven has a metal clip holding the hinge in place, you will have to first remove the screws and brackets with a screwdriver.
Step2
Set the door down on old towels or newspaper in a well lit area.
Step3
Unscrew the door to allow access to the double panes of glass. As you take each screw out, be sure to note where each comes from, so you will be able to reassemble the door after you clean the inside of each pane of glass.
Step4
Spray window cleaner on the inside of one window pane and dry completely with a clean paper towel. When clean and dry, set the first pane aside.
Step5
Clean the second window pane, again making sure to dry the inside completely to be sure there is no moisture left when you put the double panes back together.
Step6
Reassemble the entire oven door. In addition to putting the double pane window in place, be sure to line the gaskets up correctly in order to seal the door.
Step7
Put the door back onto the oven, and replace any screws you had to previously remove. Use your window cleaner to clean the outside of the glass and clean up any smudges left on the door itself.
