How to Convert a YouTube Video Without Software
If you've ever seen a YouTube video that's just so cute or so funny that you have to have a copy and share it with everyone you know, then you're in luck. Converting YouTube videos to downloadable formats is now as easy as saving a document to your computer, and, best of all, you don't have to buy any special software.

Copy the YouTube link of the video you want to convert and download. Highlight the URL of the YouTube video with your mouse and either push "control-C" or right-click, and select "Copy" to copy the link.

Go to the KeepVid website where you can convert your YouTube video to a downloadable format.

Paste your YouTube link in the bar under the KeepVid logo header by pressing "control-V" or by right-clicking and selecting "Paste."

Click the green "Download" button and wait for your video's "Download Link" button to appear below.

Select "Download Link." A window should pop up where you can choose to save the link to your computer. After the video has finished downloading, rename the video so that it now has a flash drive video (.flv) extension.

Watch your video using a flash video player. If you don't have one, download one for free.

Tips & Warnings
Consider using KeepVid's shortcut option if you plan to download YouTube videos frequently. On their homepage, you can drag a "Keep It!" button onto your toolbar. Then, whenever you watch a video that you want to download, all you have to do is click "Keep It!"
Convert YouTube videos to formats other than flash drive videos by pasting the video link onto the bar on the vixy.net homepage and select your preferred format.
