Babies grow so fast that you barely get the bed in the door before they have outgrown it. You can save a few dollars on your baby's bed by getting a used one. Here are a few tips on how to buy a used baby bed.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a local thrift shop. Thrift shops have a host of used items that are in good condition. As children outgrow their baby furniture, many families donate the baby beds to thrift shops.

  2. Step 2

Shop on eBay. You can find anything on eBay. More than likely, you'll be able to find a used baby bed and the accompanying bedroom furniture.

  3. Step 3

Ask around. You might get away with buying a used baby bed for a steal if you ask friends and family members. There is a good chance you can get a bed for free. After all, no one wants to keep baby furniture hanging around in the house after it has outlived its usefulness.

  4. Step 4

Go to garage and tag sales. It is very common for people to sell their baby furniture, including baby beds, at garage and tag sales.

  5. Step 5

Attend a moving sale. Moving sales are a great way to buy a used baby bed. Owners, who need to move quickly, will often sell their furniture at a low price. It is not uncommon to pay pennies on the dollar for furniture at a moving sale. If the owner had small children, there is a good chance that you can find a used baby bed in good condition.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to thoroughly clean and sterilize the newly acquired used baby bed.
  • Older beds many not comply with modern safety standards.
