Things You'll Need:
- Soccer jersey
- Soccer shorts (nylon)
- Shin guards
- Soccer socks
- Cleats
-
Step 1
Gather the materials you'll need at a sporting good store or thrift store. The shin guards, cleats, jerseys, shorts and socks are popular items that should be readily available, especially during the season. (Which is right around the time of Halloween if you're looking for a costume.)
-
Step 2
Strip down to your underwear. If you are playing in cold weather, wearing sweatpants under your shorts and a long-sleeved T-shirt under your jersey is a good idea; just make sure your league allows it.
-
Step 3
Throw on your shorts and shirt. It is helpful to do this before the shin guards. In case the shorts are tight, then you will have no trouble pulling them above the shin guards.
-
Step 4
Put on the shin guards. It may be helpful to sit down for this as you usually have to place your foot through a loop and then fasten them with Velcro.
-
Step 5
Cover the shin guards with your socks. It certainly isn't high fashion, but you must pull soccer socks all the way up.
-
Step 6
Finish dressing like a soccer player by adding cleats. Most people wait to put their cleats on until they hit the field. This is because the actual cleats wear down easily when walking on pavement. (Not to mention it's slippery.) Wear a pair of sneakers until then.
