Step 1
Give your rabbit some space. He may be defending his territory and doesn't want you around. Walk away for awhile to give him time to cool down.
-
Step 2
Leave your rabbit alone in a quiet area. Put him in his cage or leave him in a room and close the door behind you. Giving him some quiet time may help calm his nerves.
-
Step 3
Observe what made your rabbit angry in the first place. Maybe he is tired of being petted or perhaps a loud noise startled him. Sometimes it could even be the way you pick him up that he doesn't like. Take note of anything you recognize so that it doesn't happen again in the future.
-
Step 4
Move slowly around your rabbit and speak in a calm voice. Yelling at him will just make him more upset.
-
Step 5
Talk with your vet about possibly spaying or neutering your rabbit. This may help with behavior problems and also prolongs the life of your rabbit.
-
Step 6
Interact with your rabbit in a positive way so that he can learn you are not there to harm him. Spend some quality time with your rabbit to establish a bond. You will both soon learn what each other's likes and dislikes are.
