Wooden spoon bunny pins are a cute and clever way to recycle wooden ice cream spoons. They make an adorable gift for mom, grandma, or a favorite teacher, or would be an ideal take-home gift for guests at a baby shower. Even young children can create a wooden spoon bunny pin with a little adult assistance.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 wooden ice cream spoons, washed
  • 1 used margarine container, washed
  • Masking tape
  • White craft glue
  • Paintbrush
  • White tempera paint or poster paint
  • Clear glitter
  • 2 googly eyes
  • Small pom-pom, pink
  • Narrow ribbon in a pastel color of your choice
  • Safety pin
  • Plastic tablecloth or newspapers
  1. Step 1

Protect your working surface with a plastic tablecloth or a layer of newspapers.

  2. Step 2

Glue the wide end of two wooden ice cream spoons together so that the narrower ends of the spoons are at a slight angle to form V-shaped bunny ears. The front spoon will be the bunny's face.

  3. Step 3

Mix two parts of white tempera paint or poster paint with one part white craft glue in a margarine container. Paint the wooden spoon bunny pin with the mixture and sprinkle it with clear glitter while it's still wet.

  4. Step 4

Glue two "googly" eyes on each bunny, and add a pink pompon nose. Tie the narrow ribbon in a bow and glue it below the bunny's ears.

  5. Step 5

Attach a safety pin to the back of the bunny, using a piece of masking tape to hold it in place while the glue dries.
