Chamomile is a brightly colored yellow or orange flower that is related to the daisy. It's not only a lovely flower, but has been prized as a healing herb and skin treatment for thousands of years. Chamomile cleansing milk made of all-natural ingredients will sooth, nourish and refresh dry and sensitive skin.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • ¼ cup cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. fresh chamomile blossoms, crushed
  • Cheesecloth or muslin
  • Glass or plastic container with tightly fitting lid
  • Cotton balls

Step1
Place the cream, milk and chamomile blossoms in the top of a double boiler.
Step2
Simmer the chamomile mixture on low heat for about 30 minutes. Don't allow the chamomile cleansing milk to boil, and don't let it heat to the point where it forms a skin on the top.
Step3
Turn off the heat but leave the chamomile mixture on the burner. Let it steep for about two hours.
Step4
Strain the chamomile cleansing milk through cheesecloth or muslin to remove the chamomile blossoms. Pour the mixture in a glass or plastic container. Store it in the refrigerator and use it within a week.
Step5
Apply the chamomile cleansing milk to the face with cotton balls and remove any excess by blotting the skin lightly with tissues.
