Most people are probably familiar with the dysfunctional Griffin family of the cartoon show "Family Guy." One of the most recognizable characters is Stewie, the wise-cracking toddler with the odd-shaped head. If you like to draw, grab a pencil and do a sketch of Stewie from "Family Guy."

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil
  • Sketch pad
  • Tracing paper (optional)
  1. Step 1

Start drawing Stewie by drawing a football shape. Do not join the two points on either end of the football; leave a gap at each end. Join the two ends by making small C-shaped ears.

  2. Step 2

Make a faint horizontal line from one ear to the other. Then draw a faint circle inside the football shape. Draw a nose in the center. Make circles for eyes, making the middle of the eyes the point where the horizontal line and circle intersect on either side of the nose.

  3. Step 3

Erase the horizontal line and circle inside Stewie's football-shaped head. Add a lower and upper lid to the eyes and small dots for pupils. Sketch in the mouth and also evenly spaced vertical lines along the top arc of the football shape from ear to ear for Stewie's hair. Put in straight lines over the eyes for eyebrows.

  4. Step 4

Sketch the body lightly with straight lines to get the height of Stewie's body, which is approximately the same height as his head. Draw a straight line down from the bottom arc of the head. Fill in short legs and short arms. Make oval shapes for feet.

  5. Step 5

Clean up the drawing by erasing the straight lines you used to sketch out Stewie's body. Draw Stewie's overalls by drawing two sets of short vertical lines down from the bottom arc of the head, approximately on either side of the mouth. Make small circles at the ends of each set of lines for buttons.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make a perfect football shape for Stewie's head by drawing the top arc first, then draw the horizontal line before adding the lower arc.
  • Place a piece of tracing paper over your rough drawing and fill in only the needed details to create a clean drawing instead of erasing the guide lines you used for sketching Stewie's head and body.
  • Do not draw a neck of any sort. Stewie's football-shaped head rests directly on his shoulders; there is no visible neck.
