Spongebob Squarepants is a popular children's cartoon on television almost every day of the week. Spongebob is a sponge who lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the sea. Many kids not only enjoy watching Spongebob, they also enjoy drawing him. Here are a few steps on how to draw Spongebob using basic drawing techniques.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drawing paper
  • A pencil with an eraser
  1. Step 1

Place the drawing paper on a flat surface in front of you. Draw a slightly wedged rectangle shape on the paper and divide it into four sections.

  2. Step 2

Draw two very large circles that rest on the center line of the divisions that you drew in step one to divide the rectangle into four sections. The large circles will be Spongebob's eyes.

  3. Step 3

Add the mouth under the eyes. Make sure you draw the upper lip and the lower mouth. Add an oval at the corner of the mouth for a cheek. Draw in a tongue and two large buck teeth on the top of the mouth and two more on the bottom of the mouth. Draw the eyelashes on the eyeballs.

  4. Step 4

Create the arms and legs by drawing small l-shaped tubes. Spongebob should have very skinny legs and arms. Draw in a shirt collar and tie and then add his pants.

  5. Step 5

Erase the outline marks and make the outer edges of Spongebob wavy. Draw in his pupils and shade them black. Draw various sized circles around Spongebob's body. Add as much detail as you would like.
