A drawing can tell many stories, including love stories. If you are trying to draw two people kissing, there are some things you can do to make your two lovebirds meet in the middle to best capture the moment. It may take a few practice sketches to get the angles correct, but after that, the artistic sparks should be flying.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Determine the position. Consult images of couples kissing to give you a good idea of how the two bodies fit together. Do rough sketches using stick figures to gauge how each body should be positioned.
Step2
Pay attention to the angles of the skull and the rib cage. Since you are doing two shapes that are facing each other, be sure to note the angle of each person's body in relationship to the other. A drawing can appear unrealistic or unnatural because of skewed geometry.
Step3
Lightly sketch the basic forms completely without worrying about who is in front of whom using stick figures first and then filling in the forms with polygon shapes.
Step4
Decide which figure is in foreground and which is in the background. The angle of the head helps to determine who goes where. Erase the rough lines of the character in the background that are covered by the character in the foreground.
Step5
Use negative space between the forms to determine how close the figures are. Since the two forms connect in the drawing, the negative space helps to decipher the lines.
Step6
Fill in the faces. The shapes of the faces fitting together can be done with a single line hinting at the shape of the forehead, nose and half of the mouth of the person in the foreground if the picture is in profile.
Step7
Add depth to your drawing. Finalize your lines by going over your finished shape with a darker line than where you started. Erase previous sketching and finish up your drawing with shading.
