One of the most popular and recognizable cartoon characters in TV history is Homer Simpson. The father figure of the long-standing show "The Simpsons" is not only memorable, but he's not difficult to draw either. With a few simple lines and basic shapes, you can draw Homer Simpson.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Sketch pad
  • Picture of Homer Simpson
  • Colored pencils (optional)
  1. Step 1

Start near the top of the page. Draw a "C" near the center of the page, then a circle beside it, enclosing the open end of the "C" with the second circle. This will form Homer Simpson's eyes.

  2. Step 2

Draw an oblong nose below the eyes. Then draw a line straight down starting from near the front of the nose, about an inch or so, then curve to the left and draw a straight line about another inch or so for the mouth. From about the middle of the mouth, loop down and around, meeting where you started from the nose.

  3. Step 3

Make Homer Simpson's head by starting from the top of the second eye and arcing around in a dome shape. Make some hair at the end of the arc beside his eyes. Fill in a few strands of hair at the top of the head.

  4. Step 4

Use the tip of your pencil to make dots for pupils inside the eye circles. Draw a line down from the end of the head arc and another from below the mouth to form Homer's neck.

  5. Step 5

Sketch in a shirt collar to join the two lines of the neck. Start at the open neck of the collar and draw straight down, slightly ahead of Homer's face, then back to form Homer's belly.

  6. Step 6

Fill in the arms and legs. Homer Simpson always has on a short-sleeved t-shirt and long pants. Then color in your drawing using colored pencils if you desire. "D'oh!" You have drawn Homer Simpson.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have a picture of Homer Simpson you can draw from rather than trying to draw from memory.
  • Sketch in Homer's body with faintly-drawn lines and circles before adding the details of his arms and legs. Erase the lines when you are finished.
