How to Draw Attention

Getting noticed is important for making friends, dating and getting promoted in business. There are good ways and bad ways to draw the attention of others, and both can get you what you want. Learn the tricks of the trade and you can draw the right attention at the right time.

1. Wear the right clothes for dating. If you are wanting to draw the attention of the opposite sex, wear clothes that hug all the right curves, for both men and women. It can help to be revealing, but if you are a guy, the shirt unbuttoned to your navel is not attractive.

2. Dress to get a promotion. Draw the attention of your bosses by looking smart when you go into work every day. Suits and blazers are good in any office. Make sure your clothes are well cared for and ironed.

3. Go to prominent places to make friends. If you have recently joined a group or are new to a particular school, place yourself in a high-traffic area and try to bump into the right people. Be sure to have a good opening line and a common topic of conversation before you draw attention to yourself.

4. Join in on conversations. If you tend to be a wallflower at parties and gatherings, draw attention to yourself by talking to people. Even if you were not originally part of the conversation, it never hurts to put yourself out there.

5. Be funny. It comes naturally to some people, but humor is a wonderful icebreaker. Take some time to make humorous observations during the day, and use them to draw attention to yourself in the next meeting or gathering.

6. Join a writing group, write for a publication or start a blog. Getting your ideas out for the world to see helps draw attention to your causes.
