How to Draw a Vase
Drawing a vase is best done by learning to make simple shapes in such a way that they come together to form the shape you desire. Then, erase the lines or adjust the drawings to as you learn to achieve the desired effect.

1
Start by drawing a long egg shape with the wider part of the egg at the top and the narrow part of the egg at the bottom.
-
2
Flatten the bottom of the egg to make the flat surface for your vase to sit. Darken the sides of the vase.
-
-
3
Add the neck of the vase by bringing the lines of the oval up and closer together by drawing two soft half-circles pointing in on either side of the oval.
-
4
Draw a "C" shape that begins just below the top of the vase. The "C" should be outside the vase and laying on its side so it connects in the same location on the other side of the vase. Repeat with another "C" very close to this one to create the lip of the vase.
-
5
Add perspective by keeping the center of the vase light in color and the edges darker to fool the eye into seeing a curve. Use any color you like to create this perspective.
-
6
Erase any remaining lines of the original egg shape that don't belong.
