How to Duplicate Items in Final Fantasy 3
It's easy to acquire more of the favorites from your items list in Final Fantasy 3 (FFIII) for the Nintendo DS. Due to a bug in the game programming, it's easy to duplicate all usable items using a few simple commands while playing the game.

1
Start playing the game. Collect some items. Save and then duplicate the save.
-
2
Determine which item you'd like to duplicate. Make sure the item is stored in your "Items" list.

3
During "walkabout" mode, open the menu. Select "Items" from the menu. Put the item you would like to duplicate into the top-left corner of the item list.
-
4
Enter a battle. While battling, select the "Item" command for any character.
-
5
Hover the cursor over the item you wish to duplicate. Press "Up" and "A" at the same time.

6
The screen flashes briefly to the "Weapon and Shield" list. After you see the "Weapon and Shield" list, hit the "B" button to complete the item duplication.

Go to your inventory. If the duplication worked, there's one more of the item that you duplicated in your inventory than you had previously.

Tips & Warnings
You can create more than 99 copies of any item, but the game cannot display more than 99 in the inventory.
Because the ability to duplicate depends on a bug in the game, duplicating items can be dangerous. There is a possibility that duplicating an item can ruin your save. Always duplicate your save before you use the item duplication cheat.
