Firefox add-ons are available to customize your browser. Among these add-ons are themes that change the appearance of Firefox. So, if you are used to the Internet Explorer interface or prefer those color schemes and graphics, you have the ability to make Firefox look like Internet Explorer using add-ons.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Select the "Customize Firefox" bookmark from the Bookmarks menu in Firefox. Alternately, search for "Firefox Add-ons" using your favorite search engine to open the Firefox Add-ons webpage.
Step2
Click on the "Themes" link in the "Browse" section of the menu at the left of the Firefox Add-ons webpage.
Step3
Browse for Internet Explorer or Microsoft themes in the "Popular Themes" section.
Step4
Search the Firefox Add-ons webpage for Internet Explorer themes. Type "Internet Explorer Themes" into the Search text box at the top of the page for a list of all Internet Explorer-related themes.
Step5
Use either the "Download" or "Show License Agreement" buttons to download your chosen theme.
Step6
Restart Firefox once the download and installation are complete.
Step7
Choose "Add-ons" from the Tools menu in Firefox to choose the new theme. Close the Add-ons dialog box and restart Firefox again to apply the Internet Explorer theme.

Tips & Warnings

  • Close all Firefox windows and dialog boxes before restarting to ensure that changes take effect.
  • Additional Internet Explorer version 7 style themes are available that use "Vista" or "Aero" in the name. Be sure to check these out as well.
