Things You'll Need:
- Good packing snow
- Buttons or small stones
- Scarf (optional)
-
Step 1
Check to make sure the snow is the right consistency for sculpting. Find a suitable location with enough snow and space for your penguin.
-
Step 2
Pack snow together to make a large snowball. Place it in the spot you want the penguin and smooth the top of it flat.
-
Step 3
Roll a second ball of snow a little smaller than the first one. Place it on top of the first snowball and make sure it is centered and secure.
-
Step 4
Sculpt another snowball and make it smaller than the other two. Put this one carefully on the top of your sculpture.
-
Step 5
Gather some snow and place it around the spots where the snowballs meet. Fill the spaces until you have a shape that looks like a penguin's body. The three snowballs should now look like one form.
-
Step 1
Add the penguin's feet by packing and shaping snow on the right and left side of the penguin's base.
-
Step 2
Construct wings by adding snow to the area between the head and upper body section. Continue to pack in the snow until the wings on both sides are extending out of the body.
-
Step 3
Take snow and pack it tightly together until it resembles a penguin's beak. Bring it to your penguin and place it near the bottom of his head. Hold it with one hand and grab a hand full of snow with the other. Place the snow around the beak until it feels securely attached to the penguin's face.
-
Step 4
Create a tail similar to the beak only larger. Add it to the back of your penguin near the bottom. Secure it with additional snow if needed.
-
Step 5
Add buttons or small stones for his eyes. Wrap the scarf around his neck and your snow penguin is complete.
