Beanbags are great for kids' games. They're quick and easy to make, and nobody gets hurt if the game gets a little out of hand. Learning how to build a beanbag game is easier than you may think. All you need are a few supplies and a little bit of time. Soon you'll have a game that kids of all ages can enjoy playing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create your beanbags. Choose a strong fabric like canvas and cut several two- or three-inch squares. Sew up most of the beanbag inside out, leaving a tiny spot open to fill the bag with beans or rice. Once the bag is full, hand-stitch the last spot to complete the beanbag. For a beanbag game, you probably need about a dozen bags.

  2. Step 2

Cut your game board out of plywood. The bigger the board, the easier it will be to hit the targets, so keep that in mind when deciding on the size. You probably want at least a foot and a half in width. Once it's cut to size, sand down the edges to make sure that there are no rough corners for children to get injured on.

  3. Step 3

Paint your game board. Let the kids get involved by allowing them to paint the game board however they want. Choose bright colors and have fun with it.

  4. Step 4

Create the targets. Cut the bottoms off half a dozen or so plastic cups, and secure them to your game board in different places with staples or glue. Let the board sit overnight to make sure that the paint and glue are dry before playing.

  5. Step 5

Assign point values to each cup. Paint on the cups or on the board below, giving each cup a different point value. These points determine a winner during the game.

  6. Step 6

Start playing. Once the board is complete, take turns throwing the beanbags into the cups for points. The one with the most points at the end wins.
