Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Xi Hu Long Jing green tea leaves
  • Tea ball
  • Porcelain or glass tea pot
  • Porcelain or glass tea cups
  1. Step 1

Purchase Xi Hu Long Jing green tea leaves from a Chinese grocery store or specialty tea shop. There are a few grades of this tea. Grade A is good even after the fourth infusion of water; grade AAA requires a longer brewing time and is for people who enjoy a light-tasting tea; Jing Pin grade has a light, fruity aftertaste.

  2. Step 2

Rinse a glass or porcelain teapot with very hot water. Rinse your glass or porcelain tea cups with hot water at the same time and set them aside.

  3. Step 3

Place 2 to 3 1/2 teaspoons of tea leaves for every cup of water you will be placing in the tea pot. Use a tea ball to hold the tea leaves.

  4. Step 4

Pour hot water into the tea pot. Steep the tea leaves for one minute and then pour the tea into the cups. You can brew the same leaves into another pot of tea--just increase the water temperature and the brewing time slightly.
