In spite of more rigorous airplane security measures, there is still a strikingly high number of plane hijacking incidents each year. The important thing to know when dealing with a hijacking is how to end the event quickly with minimal civilian deaths.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Gather as much information as you can about the passengers on board, the type of aircraft involved in the hijacking, the location of the plane and, most importantly, the number of hijackers and their identities. Immediately connect with authorities or local counter-terrorism agencies to start dossiers on the hijackers.
Step2
Get the plane on the ground in a place where authorities who aren't sympathetic to the hijackers can begin to implement plans to end the situation. Faked mechanical problems, fuel loss or impending storms are good reasons to give to hijackers to get the plane on the ground in a suitable place.
Step3
Demoralize the hijackers with widespread condemnation from as many governments and world bodies (such as the UN) as possible. This process also prevents rogue states from accepting and harboring the hijackers. Broadcast the condemnations and international calls for hostage release to media that the airplane receives.
Step4
Surround the hijacked plane on the ground with military forces. Ready a special counter-terror unit that has plane hijacking scenario training to storm the plane when necessary.
Step5
Refuse to provide fuel or supplies until the hijackers either begin to negotiate or release more sensitive hostages such as children and the elderly. Continue to swap hostages for supplies so you can prepare for the end of the situation.
Step6
Raid the plane with the tactical counter-terror force if the hijackers refuse to end the hijacking voluntarily. Make sure the counter-terror team is more than adequately trained for plane situations. If they are not, then contact a friendly government to find out about the status of their hijacking and counter-terror units.
