Texting is as normal today as making a phone call was twenty years ago. There are some very sophisticated cell phones on the market today but they still send email and text messages the same way. Email text messages from your Blackberry to any other cell phone number.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Take out your Blackberry cell phone and make sure you are on the home screen. Scroll through the options there and choose messages.
Step2
Click on messages. Now press the menu button you find on that screen.
Step3
Scroll to "Compose SMS Text". Click on this option.
Step4
Pick a contact from the list or push "use once" if you do not wish to add this person as a contact.
Step5
Type in the mobile number of the cell phone you wish to text. If you picked an existing contact, your Blackberry will automatically populate this field with the correct phone number.
Step6
Compose your text message. Use the built-in keyboard and intuitive SureType mode to type your message quickly and accurately.
Step7
Check your message for errors. When you are ready push "send". Repeat steps one through seven to compose more text messages.

Tips & Warnings

  • Blackberry provides two types of typing mode, Suretype and Multi-Tap. Suretype allows you to just type and Blackberry intuitively "knows" what word you are typing. Multi-Tap lets you pick the letter by staying on the button until the letter you want appears. Switch between the two modes by pressing the star key while you are in a text field.
