Although many people think of fruit-filled pastries when considering pies, the term pie actually encompasses any type of food that is baked within a pastry shell. You can eat pie that contains meat, fruit, vegetables and more. Take time to savor a delicious pie.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Look at the pie. Before you decide how you are going to eat the pie, you have to consider the type of pie that is served. Smaller pies may only require a fork to enjoy while deeper dish versions make use of a spoon and fork.
Step2
Cut the pie after it has cooled. If you cut the pie too early, the slices are likely to fall apart. If you are planning to eat pie with a group, cut the pie into equal slices and then use a pie server to give out the pieces.
Step3
Place the pie on a sturdy plate before you eat it. The filling may drip through paper plates.
Step4
Add a small side item. If you are eating pie as your main entrée, then serve it with a small side salad. Main-course pies are typically heavy and don't need a carb item on the side.
Step5
Consider topping your fruit pies with something sweet. Adding ice cream or whipped cream to a fruit pie is a delicious treat enjoyed by many.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you wish to eat day-old pie, you can reheat it. In the microwave, heat the pie at minute intervals at half power. Or, place the pie in the oven and bake at 350 degrees.
  • Remember to refrigerate the pie immediately after eating if you wish to have leftovers the next day.
