Things You'll Need:
- Deck of playing cards
-
Step 1
Count 21 cards from the deck. Ask your spectator to deal them into three piles of seven cards each. These piles can be face up or face down, but if they are face down during the entire trick, it will be more believable.
-
Step 2
Ask the spectator to choose one pile, and then a card from that pile. They should not remove the card from the pile; they just need to remember what it is.
-
Step 3
Place the pile with their card between the other two piles and deal them into three piles of seven cards again. Deal by placing one card in Pile A, one in Pile B, one in pile C, one in Pile A and so on until you have dealt all 21 cards.
-
Step 4
Tell your spectator to look at each pile until they find the one their card is in and to let you know which one that is.
-
Step 5
Repeat Steps 3 and 4. Then, place the pile with their card between the other two card piles. Their card is now in the middle of the deck, or the eleventh card. It has 10 cards on top of it, and 10 cards below it.
-
Step 6
Remove the top 10 cards and reveal the eleventh card, which is theirs. Alternatively, you could spread all 21 cards out on the table, counting them in your head until you come to their card.
