Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 plastic cups
  • 2 rubber balls
  1. Step 1

Get three opaque, plastic cups and two, small identical rubber balls. Stand the cups in an even row. Place one of the balls into the middle cup secretly.

  2. Step 2

Usher in your audience. Sit them in front of you, but not close enough for them to see the inside of the cups.

  3. Step 3

Show the ball that isn't in the cup to your audience. Start turning the cups over one by one in quick, tight movements. Turn the middle cup first and then follow with the cups on its right and left.

  4. Step 4

Place the viewable ball on top of middle cup's bottom. Make a show of it. Ensure that your audience acknowledges your placement of the ball on top of the cup's bottom.

  5. Step 5

Pick up one of the cups on either the right of left of the middle cup and place it on top of the middle cup so that it covers both the cup and the ball on top of it. Take the last cup and slide it over the other two stacked cups. At the end of this step, you should have three cups stacked on top of each other.

  6. Step 6

Snap your fingers, tap the cups with your fingers or say some magic words.

  7. Step 7

Surprise your audience by lifting all three cups and showing them that the ball has magically penetrated the middle cup's bottom.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to practice turning the middle cup over enough times to ensure that you have mastered how to turn the cup without spilling the ball into your audience's view. Mastery of this move is essential to performing the trick correctly.
