The tabletop is a BMX bike trick where the rider lays the bike flat on it's side while airborne, then reverts it back to it's upright position in time for the landing. It's a move that looks more dangerous than it is and is always a crowd pleaser.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Jump as high as you can. The trick to performing a quality tabletop is the height you achieve on the jump. You need the air to push the bike flat and return it to upright to complete the trick.
Step2
Push the bike to your right at the same time as you turn the handle bars to the left at the height of your jump. Attempt to get the bike as flat as if it were on the floor.
Step3
Control the back of your bike to the left with your legs and feet. Practice this move to achieve the flat position implied by the name.
Step4
Perform the tabletop to the right by reversing the directions above. This bike trick can easily be performed in either direction.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ask a friend to video tape you as you practice the tabletop bike trick. Viewing the video will let you see how closely you achieve the proper position and allow you to make any corrections.
