You can create a paper airplane shooter out of a few business cards and a rubber band. This construction ensures that you paper airplane will go a lot farther than it would by simply throwing it. This is a great idea to keep a kid entertained or if you're simply bored at work.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Two business cards
  • Rubber band

Step1
Use the first business card and fold it evenly three times long ways. Pull it apart a little and it should look something like the letter M.
Step2
Wrap the rubber band around the folded card lengthwise. There should be a V in the middle to later place the paper airplane in.
Step3
Fold the second business card in half lengthwise so that it is one long strip.
Step4
Place the car with the edges at the top and the fold at the bottom. Take one side of the card and fold it down flush with the folded edge. Flip the card over and repeat on the same side.
Step5
Take one side of the folded card and fold the top down to the folded edge. Repeat on the other side.
Step6
Unfold these two edges so that they are straight out from the rest of the paper airplane. Open the car a little so it looks like a V in the middle. Now you have your basic paper airplane.
Step7
Load the paper airplane by placing it in the V of the shooter you created earlier. Push the plane backwards a little so that you can grab just the rubber band and the back of the airplane. Pull the airplane and rubber band backwards.
Step8
Use the shooter to aim the paper airplane. Release the rubber band and airplane and watch it fly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make several paper airplanes so that you have more than one to use at a time.
