Google Desktop provides a platform for you to install gadgets to help you get organized, get informed and have fun. However, you do not have to install Google Desktop to take advantage of the gadgets. With iGoogle, you can turn a personalized Google start page into a home for all of your gadgets.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Navigate to the Google website and sign in to your Google account. If you do not have a Google account, you can click on "Get Started" to create one.

  2. Step 2

Note the white bar across the top of the website. This bar is how you control what Google page you want to see. Choose "iGoogle" to start personalizing your own Google page.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Add Stuff" at the top of the website. This will take you to the selection of Google gadgets.

  4. Step 4

Pick some Google gadgets to add to your iGoogle page. Browse through the gadgets using the categories at the left and when you find one you want to add click on the "Add It Now" button.

  5. Step 5

Put your gadgets where you want them. You can move gadgets around your iGoogle page by clicking and dragging. You can also remove them by clicking on the "X" and change their settings by clicking on the arrow.

  6. Step 6

Add more tabs to get more organized. Click on the "Add a Tab" link at the top to add more tabs to your iGoogle website. You can add Google gadgets to each tab so you don't have to have all of them on one page. To add a gadget to your new tab, click on the tab and then click on "Add Stuff."

Tips & Warnings
  • You can move gadgets from one tab to another by clicking and dragging them to the tab you want to move them to.
