Instructions

    • 1

Begin with clean, dry hair. Run a brush through it to smooth any tangles and apply an anti-frizz serum or gel.

    • 2

Brush your hair back into a pony tail. For a low bun secure the ponytail at the nape of your neck. For a higher bun secure the ponytail higher on the back of your head.

    • 3

Smooth out any bumps with a bristled brush.

    • 4

Wrap the ponytail around its base and secure with a second elastic on the back of your head. Your hair will look like a cinnamon bun is sticking out of your head. Don't fret, you're not done.

    • 5

Secure the sides of the bun with bobby pins, tucking them into the back of the bun to pull it closer to your head.

    • 6

Pull out some small strands of hair from the bun with your fingers or a fine tooth comb.

    • 7

Spray the bun lightly with hairspray, to help it keep its shape.

Tips & Warnings

  • Leave a few strands loose around your forehead and the sides of your face to complete your messy chic look.
