Sometimes the person you're crushing on is unattainable. Maybe she's in a relationship with someone else, or you just can't work up the nerve to ask her out. In situations like this making friends with your crush can allow you to be close to her and eventually get over your crush.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Hang out in places where your crush shows up often. Start saying hello or smiling when he walks by you.

  2. Step 2

See if she is receptive by smiling back or keeping the eye contact. Speak to her as you walk by, using a casual greeting.

  3. Step 3

Walk over and strike up a conversation. Resist the impulse to flirt or giggle and speak in a firm tone of voice, since you're only trying to be friends with your crush.

  4. Step 4

Overcome your nerves by asking him about his interests. Only spend a few minutes talking with him; give him a compliment or encourage him to open up and talk about himself.

  5. Step 5

Take the relationship deeper. Once your crush has become more comfortable around you ask to exchange phone numbers so you can talk later.

  6. Step 6

Invite your crush out. Introduce your crush to all your friends and ask if she wants to hang out. Wait until your crush offers you an invitation as well before trying to hang out with her friends.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you become friends with your crush you might realize that you're better off as friends.
  • Putting yourself in the friend position may mean that your crush can never see you as relationship material.
