Computers are taking over the world and even the most resistant among us need to learn how to operate one. Most only need to learn the basics to avoid being a PC disaster. Let go of your fear and learn the basics of using a PC and you will be giving computer tips to your friends before you know it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Take some time to learn the basics about computers. Buy a copy of "PCs for Dummies" by Dan Gookin for a humorous yet insightful guide to computers. Read through the book for general computer tips and instructions.
Step2
Pay to have your PC properly set up by a professional. Keep customer service numbers readily available for your operating system and all other programs installed on your computer. Ask a professional for computer tips and guidelines for troubleshooting your PC. Ask your computer retailer if it offers customer support with the computer purchase and their call customer support when you encounter a problem.
Step3
Install anti-viral, spyware and adware programs on your PC. Prevent a virus, spyware or those incessant pop-up ads from destroying your computer. Find the needed products for purchase online or at a computer retailer near you.
Step4
Back up your PC files frequently. If disaster strikes, a back-up copy of your files prevents you from losing important personal or business data.
Step5
Enroll in a local computer user's class. Most people merely use a computer but do not understand how it works. Learn the basics and leave the technical stuff to computer professionals.
