How to Be an Airsoft Sniper

Airsoft is a paintball-like tactical sport that uses air or gas powered BB guns to fight military simulations. In all scenarios, Airsoft snipers are some of the most important and effective members of a team and requires intelligence, skill and practice.

1. Learn the rules and tactics of regular Airsoft play so you understand commands, basic squad tactics and how to work with your particular team. Start off practicing as any ground team member but gradually start to use sniper tactics to ready yourself for your position.

2. Get an Airsoft sniper rifle that serves your needs and is compatible with the type of environment you usually fight in. Decide between dedicated sniper rifles, such as a UHC Super 9 Bolt Action Airsoft gun, or a more versatile weapon such as a modified Spring M4 Assault Rifle that also works in closer range.

3. Scout out your location as thoroughly as possible so you know good place to snipe from and, just as importantly, where enemy snipers might be located. Once you understand the terrain of your environment find a good place where you can engage as a sniper while still operating as part of a team. Also remember to move and stay dynamic since established patterns will get you shot.

4. Consider working by yourself as a one-person team to increase and broaden your Airsoft sniper experience. While lone ranger tactics are generally more difficult and rely on accuracy rather than firepower, your status as a lone player forces you to make quick decisions and stay aggressive, thereby training you to be a better sniper.
