Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Open Solid Converter GX. When the program opens, it prompts you to select the graphic file that you want to work with. The program presents you with a Windows Explorer type selection window. Navigate to the file you want to change or add color transparency to and select that file.
Step2
Click on the dropdown arrow on the "Convert" button. When this opens, you have the choice to select the type of file to convert this graphic into or to use a wizard. Select to use the wizard. This action will open a window that prompts you for the output file type and output location.
Step3
Select the output file type to be gif. Gif files have the attribute to allow for a transparency color. Once you have selected the file type as gif and chosen a location for the output file the next window talks about selection of the color image depth. You must select if you want to convert the graphic to a grayscale image. There is a button to select to "Create Transparency." Create a transparency.
Step4
Choose the color for the alpha channel of the image. The alpha channel is the color that will become transparent in the final image. Select the color in the image that will become transparent and return to the Image Color Depth window.
Step5
Pick the "Next" button and you can review all the choices that you have made along the way. Review them carefully and click "Finished."
