So you're looking to turn your iPod into a mini-karaoke machine. If you have a 5G or nano iPod, then, not only can you listen to your music, but you can also belt out the tunes yourself (and get them correct) by adding lyrics to an iPod video.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Search for the lyrics. Google is a great search engine in which to find lyrics. Simply type in the song title and/or artist name along with the word lyrics in the Google search box. For example, type in "Coldplay Fix You lyrics" and you should get several different websites containing the lyrics for this particular song.
Step2
Copy and paste the lyrics into iTunes. You can right click on your mouse and select "Copy," then go to iTunes and pick the song in which you want to add your lyrics. Select "File," and then "Get Info" or Right-click and select "Get Info." Go to the "Lyrics" tab from the opened window and paste the lyrics in the text field. Click "OK" to close the window.
Step3
Synchronize your iPod with your iTunes library. This is done by connecting your iPod to your computer and synchronizing it to your iTunes library. Then, disconnect your iPod Video from the computer.
Step4
Select a song that has had lyrics added to it and play it. Then click the middle button approximately 3 times, and the lyrics should pop up on the screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • The lyrics are not supported by all music file types. Music file types, such as MP3 and ACC, support lyrics; however, some others, such as WAV and QuickTime, do not.
