How to Export Google Analytics Reports

Google Analytics is a website management tool used by developers and webmasters to analyze overall website activity by exporting the data. Two lines of code are added to the footer of every page that you want to track with Google Analytics. Every time users accesses the page, information about their location, time spent on the page and where they came from and went to are all collected.

      Add HTML code to the footer section of each web page that you want to track using Google Analytics. Standard process is to tag every page on a site this way to measure the number of hits per page and the location of the users who access the page.

      Log into Google Analytics and click on the view reports link. The menu on the left hand side provides a summary of the standard report information, such as the number of visitors to the site overall, sources of traffic and the content users are viewing.

      Select any of these reports by clicking on the name. Review the details to ensure the date range and details are correct for your purposes. Choose the export tab from the list of output options.

      Click on the desired output format from the list of options. A pop up window appears asking for the destination of the file output. Use the browse tool to navigate to the exact file folder you want the report downloaded to. Click on "Export" to complete the process.
