Millions of people use Google Analytics to track their website traffic and make the most of their sites. It has many features that you may not even be aware of, which is why it's important that all users spend time getting to know the format. Learning to configure your Google analytics profile, for example, may seem complicated but can help you improve the flow of information about your website.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Log in to your Analytics account using your ordinary Google account username and password.
Step2
Click on "Analytics Settings" to change your profile settings. You'll see a variety of things that you can change to make your account run more efficiently. Scroll down and click on various links to tweak your account.
Step3
Make sure that your website profiles are set up properly. If you have multiple sites to monitor, this is where you can keep track of them all. You can view reports, edit and delete directly from the Settings page. You can also add a new site from the same page.
Step4
Add other users. If you have a co-worker or someone else you want to give access to your account, click on "Access Manager" to set up multiple users on the same account.
Step5
Filter your results. You can click on "Filter Manager" to set up different properties that will affect your reports. For instance, if you want to get a true measure of your traffic and eliminate the multiple hits a day that come from you or your staff, you can simply filter out your IP address so that the final tally doesn't include your hits.

on 4/13/2008 I'm very glad to get this information. It seems that there are so many tricks of the trade, and so often the information overlaps and there's nothing new to show me what I'm doing right or wrong. THIS, however, is very useful. Thanks so much!
