How to Get CrossFit Certified for Kids

CrossFit has found huge success with kids, who generally excel at the flexibility and strength focused CrossFit programs. Becoming CrossFit certified to train kids is a relatively simple process that lets you work with kids and teens to advance their level of fitness.

  1. Step 1

    Get your basic fitness level into a good shape with some moderate conditioning and strength workout. Also, check with your doctor about any injuries you may have to see if you're in good enough shape to go through a CrossFit certification program.

  2. Step 2

    Find a CrossFit Level 1 Certification that fits your location and schedule by visiting CrossFit.com. In case there's nothing in your area write to CrossFit to request a course or organize to host a course with your local gym or fitness group.

  3. Step 3

    Get certified in the Level 1 CrossFit course by attending both days of lecture and training. Make sure to ask as many questions as possible and be able to demonstrate all the lifts and exercises that the course focuses on.

  4. Step 4

    Locate and register a CrossFit Kids Certification Seminar on CrossFit's website. Be aware that CrossFit performs criminal background checks on anyone who plans on going through the CrossFit Kids program to help ensure that certified CrossFit Kids trainers have a clean record.

  5. Step 5

    Double check the dates of the class (since CrossFit class are usually non-refundable and non-transferable) and pay for the class at the CrossFit Kids Store online which can be accessed through CrossFitKids.com.
