Alternate between maneuvers to make your body more aerodynamic while skydiving. You increase speed, improve technique and have fun. Freestyle skydivers have about a minute to play among the clouds before pulling their parachutes.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin with your torso in an upright position. Point one leg straight down toward the ground. The other leg is pointed straight back almost horizontally behind your body. This is an Arabesque.

  2. Step 2

Keep your body in the same position as in Step 1 except bend the back leg to a 45-degree angle. Your foot should be higher than your knee and behind your back. You are in an Arabesque Attitude.

  3. Step 3

Start with your upper body in an upright position and one leg still pointing down to the ground. Straighten your back leg and bring it forward in a horizontal position. This is a Compass.

  4. Step 4

Shift your front leg out and back into an Arabesque and face the same direction that you started in. You've just done an Arabesque Swing-Back.

  5. Step 5

Try to reverse into an Arabesque Swing-Forward. Swing the back leg out and forward into a Compass. Face the same direction. Your back leg is now raised in front of you.

  6. Step 6

Rotate your upper body 180-degrees away from your raised leg. Keep your raised leg in place to end in an Arabesque facing the opposite direction. This is the Arabesque Illusion.

  7. Step 7

Return to the Compass form. Rotate your upper body 180-degrees towards your raised leg. Maintain a horizontal position with the raised leg. End in a Compass in the opposite direction. This is the Arabesque Inversion.
