Skydiving is a type of parachuting where you do air acrobatics before pulling the ripcord of the parachute to land. Usually you'll do an inverted pose while skydiving when you're freeflying. An inverted pose or other pose while freeflying in skydiving can be done at different speeds and is the most technical of all freefly positions. It requires skill and practice to perfect the inverted pose.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hard shell helmet
  • Tight-fitting container
  • Two altimeters
  • Cypres (Automatic Activation Device for Skydivers)
  • Parachute
  • Non-restrictive clothing
  1. Step 1

Stretch. Completing an inverted pose while skydiving is physically demanding and you need to prepare your body so you don't injure it.

  2. Step 2

Exit the plane. Be sure you know which way the wind is coming from before you jump. Present your body to the wind.

  3. Step 3

Turn your body in the air so that your head is facing down. Once you've rotated your body, make sure your head, shoulders, hips and ankles are perfectly in line.

  4. Step 4

Point your head towards the ground in such a way so that your view is half and half ground. To achieve a perfect line, squeeze your quads tightly so they push outwards, tighten your buttocks and point your toes toward your head.

  5. Step 5

Rotate to a feet-first position when you're ready to land from an inverted pose while skydiving. Approach slowly and land softly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice the inverted pose while skydiving at lower speeds. As you become more comfortable, you can do faster falls.
  • Fly in small groups to begin with. One-on-one flying is best. Always practice in a safe atmosphere.
  • Make your break-off altitude at 4000 feet.
  • Avoid sudden or drastic changes in speed.
  • There's more danger of collisions with an inverted pose while skydiving. Extreme caution must be exercised.
  • Always get coaching before trying any type of skydiving.
