How to Buy British Open Gear

The Open Championship, known as the British Open to those in the United States, is the world's oldest golf championship. The British Open, held at a variety of golfing venues throughout the United Kingdom, awards the silver Claret Jug in addition to prize money to the golfer who wins the championship. Look for the Claret Jug on official British Open apparel.

1. Attend the British Open to buy official British Open apparel. If a trip to the United Kingdom is not in the budget this year, visit the championship's website. Check back often to discover when this year's merchandise is available for sale. Japanese customers access the "Japan-only Shop" on the Open's homepage to find gear by Mizuno. All product information on that site is in Japanese.
2. Find British Open shirts and hats on the PGA's online shop. Choose from cotton polo shirts sporting the Claret Jug, in several colors. Current British Open caps are available as is apparel from the previous year's championship.
3. Search eBay for apparel from past British Opens. Championship apparel is collected by golfers around the world. Men and women's apparel is available.
4. Contact any one of the clubs that have hosted the British Open for authentic club apparel. The following venues have hosted the British Open: Carnoustie, St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Muirfield, Prestwick, Musselburgh, Turnberry, Royal Portrush, Royal Lytham, Royal Birkdale, Hoylake, Sandwich and Deal.
