Runecrafting is an essential part of performing magic in RuneScape. Crafting Runes on your own lets you do magic at no cost. Certain Runes can cost 100 to 200 gold coins apiece, so crafting Runes is a cost-effective way to get the Runes you need to do magic.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Familiarize yourself with RuneScape to prepare for the quest you'll have to accomplish before you start to craft Runes. The quest is simple and you should complete it soon after it's started.

  2. Step 2

Teleport to a Rune Mine. After you've completed the quest and have acquired a pick axe, which you can find at any general store, you can teleport into the mine through a computer-controlled character. This is where you mine the Rune Essence that you use to craft Runes.

  3. Step 3

Acquire a Rune Talisman. The Talisman is the key to getting to the Rune Altar, which is where you're going to craft the Runes using the Rune Essence. If you click on the Talisman, it will tell you which direction to go to find the Rune Altar.

  4. Step 4

Use the Talisman to enter the Altar. You'll need the right Talisman to get into the specific Altar. For instance, the Air Talisman gets you into the Air Altar and the Water Talisman gets you into the Water Altar.

  5. Step 5

Click on the Altar and then the Rune Essence to commence the crafting process.

Tips & Warnings
  • The higher the level of your Runecrafting, the greater variety of Runes you can make.
  • You can sell your Runes to a Rune Shop to make a profit, since crafting them costs nothing.
