Step 1
Mix up the cube by twisting the pieces around until it is fully random. Have someone else mix it up for a better challenge.
-
Step 2
Move the rows as you would a Rubik's Cube. Only the center blocks are fixed--the rest move toward and away from you, up and down, left and right. Get familiar with the way the blocks move before trying to find the solution.
-
Step 3
Focus on each block's orientation in relation to the center digits. Use Rubik's Cube logic, such as the Lars Petrus method, to train yourself to think ahead and only make moves that can help lead you to the solution.
-
Step 4
Work on the corners, twisting and turning them into place. Then start to figure out where the 12 edge pieces should go and work those out.
-
Step 5
Backtrack when you need to, make notes of how you moved or add temporary stickers to show yourself where certain pieces should go. Be patient and take as much time and as you need, and don't be afraid to start over.
