The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic golf tournament is one of the longest standing tournaments on the PGA tour. It was hosted for many years by Bob Hope--a man known for USO tours, a hook nose, an incredibly long career and his love of golf. The tournament is unique in that it consists of 5 days of play instead of 4. It is played on a number of courses in the Palm Springs, Calif.-area.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the tournament's website for the dates. It has recently been moved earlier into the season, towards the end of January.

  2. Step 2

Read about the format. See that the tournament is played on four courses--usually La Quinta, PGA West, The Classic Course and Silver Rocks resort.

  3. Step 3

Check out the celebrities who will be playing in the tournament. In the past, Bill Murray and George Lopez have provided entertainment of a somewhat less competitive nature than that provided by the pros--but very, very funny.

  4. Step 4

Order tickets online or call (888) 672-4673, the toll free number for tickets.

  5. Step 5

Look at the Palm Springs chamber of commerce website and those for La Quinta, PGA West and the Silver Rocks resort for hotel accommodations. The resorts are usually booked early, so call at least 3 months in advance.

  6. Step 6

Continue to follow the pre-tournament publicity in the weeks before the tournament. The lists of PGA pros who are participating as well as the celebrities and their daily starting times will appear a few weeks before the tournament.
