How to Use a Baby Bottle Warmer

As a new parent, you have to figure out many different gadgets and gizmos once your baby is born. Thankfully, learning how to use a baby bottle warmer doesn't have to be a complicated process. All it takes is a few test runs, and you'll be warming up bottles for middle of the night feedings with no problem at all.

Instructions

1. Decide on the model that works best for you. There are many different brands and styles, but they're basically either plug-in models or travel bottle warmers. Most plug-in models work by using steam to heat up the liquid, while travel warmers use chemical reactions to warm the bottle.

2. Add the correct amount of water. For plug-in models, read the instructions to find out the exact steam-to-liquid ratio. Using the enclosed dropper, add water depending on the size of the bottle you need to warm. If the bottle is cold from the refrigerator, you may need to add additional water to warm it up from a cold state.

3. Unscrew the top off the bottle. Since the liquid inside the bottle will expand slightly as it warms, it's important to remove the top of the bottle before warming it to prevent injury.

4. Turn on the bottle warmer. It should take a minute or two for the bottle to warm to the correct temperature. Screw the top back on once the warming process is complete.

5. Test the bottle before use. Place a few drops on your inner wrist to make sure that it's safe for baby.
