How to Unlock Prestige Mode in Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare provides some of the most exciting online gameplay seen in first-person shooters. Because you can rank up and unlock weapons, perks and challenges, it is also very addictive. When you reach the highest rank, Prestige Mode gives this game a replay value unseen before in first-person shooters.

Instructions

1. Play in online multiplayer matches. Prestige Mode is only available as online play.

2. Play the game types that give you more XP. "Team Deathmatch" and "Sabotage" each give you 10 XP per kill, as opposed to the 5 XP you get in Free-for-All. "Search and Destroy" gives 50 XP per kill, but you don't respawn if you die, so you spend less time actually playing.

3. Complete challenges to gain XP. You unlock challenges as you rank up, and completing them will help you to rank up more quickly. Check the Barracks to see your progress in all the challenges.

4. Reach Level 55. This is the highest attainable rank. Once you gain enough XP at this level, you will unlock Prestige Mode.

5. Select "Prestige Mode." You will be asked twice if you would like to continue. By accepting, you choose to start all over, losing everything you have unlocked. You will, however, have an icon next to your name showing that you have attained Prestige Mode.

6. Repeat Steps 1 through 5. Each time you attain Prestige Mode, you get a new icon next to your name, which lets other players know of your accomplishments.

Tips & Warnings

• Pay attention to the weapons challenges. Maxing out weapons gives you the most XP.

• Many challenges give you 250 XP, which is a hefty sum when trying to reach Prestige Mode. Coincidentally, these are usually some of the easier challenges to complete.

• Read the message board when you sign in. You may just find that it is Double XP Weekend.
