Work and home life are obviously very separate from each other but it's very easy to carry your work life home with you and carry your home life to work. How do we keep a balance?

First whatever issues you are dealing with at home, leave them at home and just focus on your job function at hand. It's a difficult thing to do but it will effect how you perform on your job.

When you are leaving work, tell yourself okay I am going home now I need to leave my work life at work. There is enough stress between the two, bringing home added stress will make things worse.

Even when you are at home you tend to think of things at work, when you are at work you think of things at home. If possible categorize and prioritize your life so that work and home life don't even meet.

If you carry home your work stresses, it affects the rest of your family. Your family needs you so getting out of work mode is very important. For the sake of your job, your employers need you so your home life needs to stay put. Yes it's almost like you're two people, but we are a people of many functions!
