Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A price range
- The ability to search online
Step1
Decide how much money you want to spend on a laptop for a child. Most parents would not want to spend a whole lot of money, but it really depends on your child. If you have a clumsy child that is younger, you will probably want to spend less money. If your child is mature and older, however, then you may want to purchase a more expensive laptop that may last them throughout school.
Step2
Determine how much computer space your child’s laptop will require. Take into consideration that almost all kids enjoy playing computer games that need to be installed into the computer and older kids like to save digital pictures into their computers, both of which take up a lot of space.
Step3
Figure out how big the screen of your child’s laptop should be. There are a wide variety of sizes. Although larger sizes may be a better option for some children, smaller sized laptops may be suitable for some children due to the fact that they are less bulky and may not be dropped so quickly. Smaller sized laptops also may make a great choice because they tend to cost less.
Step4
Do a price comparison of laptops on the market. Check stores such as Circuit City, Staples and Best Buy for prices. You can go to the store or search online. It is a good idea to know which laptop or laptop brands you may be interested in beforehand, in order to make sure that you are getting the best price on the specific laptop that you want.
